Product Re-Launch: 3-Methoxytyramine (3-MT) RIA
Sep 30th 2019
It’s with pleasure to inform you that the revision of the 3-MT-RIA (Catalog number IB88528) is finished and that this assay is available again effective immediately.
This is the FIRST COMMERCIAL IMMUNOASSAY WORLDWIDE for the quantitative determination of 3-MT in human plasma.
BACKGROUND:
The determination of normetanephrine and metanephrine in plasma is a sensitive test for investigating phaechromocytoma and paragangliomas (PPGLs), but it does not provide the possibility to detect dopamine-producing tumors. Dopamine and especially its O-methylated metabolite 3-MT are reliable biomarkers for the detection of malignant PPGLs.
This assay excellently compares to the LC-MS/MS method and offers an accurate, selective and sensitive measurement of 3-MT.
The assay itself uses an elegant extraction procedure followed by a competitive RIA (please refer to the instructions for use).
With this assay we are now able to offer the most comprehensive panel worldwide for the measurement of PPGL / Pheochromocytoma-relevant parameters including the assays for:
- Urinary Metanephrine / Normetanephrine (ELISA & RIA)
- Plasma Metanephrine / Normetanephrine (ELISA & RIA)
- Catecholamines in plasma and urine (ELISA & RIA)
- Chromogranin A (ELISA)
- and – closing the gap – 3-Methoxytyramine (RIA)
