Solid phase sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the determination of DPP4 / CD26 in human serum, EDTA-plasma, urine, and CSF. For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedures.<br> <br>
DPP4/CD26 is a 110kDa, type2 transmembrane glycoprotein. It expresses in various organs such as lymphocyte, kidneys, biliary duct, pancreas duct, intestinal tracts, and epithelium of prostate gland, vascular endothelial cells and endometrial membrane. Its soluble form also exists in a body fluid. It involves with inflammatory reactions as co-stimulatory molecule of T cell. On the one hand it also has an activity as an endopeptidase cleaving C-terminal of alanine or 2nd proline of N-terminal. Substrate contains various hormone and chemokine and incretin (GLP-1 and GIP) which has a function of promoting secretion of insulin after meals is also substrate. As incretin is cleaved by DPP4/CD26 and it loses its function after the cleaving, DPP4/CD26 inhibitors as drugs of diabetes has been developed. It is also reported that DPP4/CD26 has not only a function of metabolism of glucose and inflammation but also suppressing of progression of cancers. It has various roles both in physiological and pathophysiological aspects. This ELISA kit can specifically measure DPP4/CD26.
