Interleukin-8 (IL-8) is leukocyte chemotactic factor produced by stimulating inflammatory-cytokine such as IL-1 and TNF and by subsequent producing from different cells such as leukocyte, fibroblast and endothelial cell. It is recognized that IL-8 has various biological activities against neutrophil cell, T cell, and basophil in vivo and in vitro. For example, representative action of IL-8 against neutrophil cell is chemotaxis and exocytosis. So IL-8 is considered as important mediator in forming inflammation in vivo. It is reported that IL-8 has relevant to pathologic condition and development on such as inflammatory affection (ex. rheumatoid arthritis, gout), psoriasis, ARDS and asthma.
